In 1978, the name Pacusma was created to represent Pacific Custom Manufacturing. The name accurately represented the company and the custom manufacturing industry as they moved away from the "electrical devices" stigma and toward full turnkey manufacturing services.

In 1984, the company saw a demand for voltage surge protection products and quickly introduced a two to six multi-outlet converter and a six-out- let power strip. This was the beginning of a huge potential value-added electrical market for Pacusma.

In 1989, in an innovative effort to revitalize the electrical multi-outlet market, Pacusma developed a patented Side Multi-Outlet and the Tangle Free power strip. The Tangle Free strip rapidly caught on with retail buyers because it eliminated the jumble of messy wires. The Side Multi-Outlet has also been very successful since its launch date and continues to experience increasing sales.

In 1999, in response to Japanese consumers, Pacusma designed a multi-outlet strip with an individual switch for each outlet to reduce power consumption.

Today, with over 700 dedicated employees under one roof, Pacusma continues to nurture its significant competitive advantage through its ability to anticipate and satisfy customer needs and to meet the demand for new products.

Pacusma's R & D engineers work continuously on new designs and development. Pacusma has received 15 patents worldwide on its surge protection lines. The marketing staff are trained to support all ongoing projects from the initial phase through the final process. Pacusma distributes all of its product lines globally through large private label distributors and their objectives continue to focus on marketable design products.As Pacusma moves into 2004, the company strives to enhance the speed, flexibility, and excellence that is the core of the organization.
